AdventNet Adds Remote Control Option to Managed Services Platform
OpManager MSP 6.5 offers one-click, internet-friendly, remote control for
managed service providers
PLEASANTON, California, July 18, 2007
AdventNet Inc., the leading
provider of affordable network management software, today announced the
release of OpManager MSP 6.5, its managed services platform that empowers
hundreds of managed service providers worldwide to generate profitable
recurring revenue. The new release offers a secure and easy way for MSPs to
remote control into any managed Windows server or desktop from the comfort
of their home or office or a cafe shop. For more details please visit

"We acquired the remote desktop control capability in order to
streamline our technician's efficiency. By eliminating travel time and
minimizing response time we will be able to better service our clients'
needs. Merasys is committed to providing an excellence in service that
exceeds the industries standards. OpManager MSP Remote Desktop Control is
another tool in our arsenal to help us achieve that goal," said Doug Mendl,
President Merasys Enterprise Solutions; a Nashville, Tennessee based
Managed Service Provider who uses OpManager MSP for managing his customers.
Merasys has also acquired the integrated helpdesk and asset management
capabilities from AdventNet.
The user experience is similar to GoToMyPC(TM) or LogMeIn(TM). It works
over internet and doesn't require the MSPs to punch holes in the customer
firewalls. The fact that MSPs can push the agents right from the central
interface is a great plus. Moreover, when NOC administrators pick an alarm
and start troubleshooting, they can remote control into the machine with
one click. It also keeps track of the remote control sessions for later
reference.
New features offered in OpManager MSP 6.5
One-click remote control
File and folder monitoring
GSM modem support
Google MAP API 2.0 support
Improved asset management
"Reducing on-site visits helps MSPs to stay profitable in the long run.
With this release our customers can do away with RDP, VNC, or other
traditional tools and troubleshoot instantly without having to open ports
at customer firewall," said Dev Anand, Product Manager for Managed Services
Division at AdventNet. "We have a vision to be the unified console for a
managed service provider. We have already integrated remote management,
hardware software audit, automated patching, network attack detection
tools, helpdesk, and remote control into one. We are planning to offer
specific tools that address real-life pain points for managed service
providers, such as professional services automation, in the coming months,"
Dev further added.
