AdventNet today announced the release of OpManager 5.6, its popular
network monitoring software now includes new additional features
and enhancements based on customer feedback. The new release offers
combined WAN, Server, and Application monitoring. Existing customers
using the 5.5 version with a valid support contract can automatically
upgrade to the new version by installing the service pack available
at http://www.opmanager.com/service-packs.html
Efficient Network monitoring technology
OpManager is a web-based network monitoring software offering integrated
fault and performance management functionality. OpManager auto-discovers
the entire network, groups devices into intuitive maps, and monitors
them in real-time. It instantaneously sends alerts and notifies
operators by e-mail/SMS, when a fault occurs. Comprehensive reports
and graphs are also provided including more than 160 out-of-the-box
graphs, including: Cisco devices, MS-Exchange, Lotus Notes, Oracle,
MSSQL, Dell, and Compaq servers. In addition, it supports adding
custom graphs to monitor any SNMP parameter.
New features offered by OpManager Version 5.6
Exchange Monitor: To monitor Exchange 2000/2003. Available
as an add-on Cost $495 for monitoring unlimited Exchange servers.
With Exchange Monitor, you can monitor critical Exchange services
& detect problems quickly - an intuitive dashboard offers a quick
view of overall status. You can pin-point the exact point of failure,
minimize downtime and get a complete status check on the health
of your Exchange Server(s).
ServiceDesk Plus integration: Deeper integration between
OpManager & ServiceDesk Plus. In addition to the automatic creation
of tickets for the alarms raised by OpManager, version 5.6 now allows
ServiceDesk Plus screens to be accessed from within OpManager. Also,
a device's complete hardware & software details can be seen from
the device snapshot page itself.
NetFlow Analyzer integration: Allows accessing of detailed
traffic reports from Netflow Analyzer. When abnormally high traffic/utilization
is detected by OpManager, it sends email/SMS alerts to technicians
who can then drill-down into the OpManager traffic/utilization graphs
to identify the top applications/sources which caused this disruption.
"I would like to say how much I enjoy your OpManager product.
It provides all the tools needed to manage my network from one console.
The features that were added in last update show your commitment
to responding to your customers," said Paul Williams, National
Financial Partners. "I researched over 30 products prior to
choosing OpManager and none of them came close to the number of
features or anywhere near the affordability," he added.
"By integrating ServiceDesk Plus and Netflow Analyzer, we are
moving closer towards our goal of providing a cost-effective integrated
solution for Enterprise IT that can work across IT Operations and
IT Services for Small & Medium business (SMB)", said Girish
Mathrubootham, Product Manager at AdventNet. "Earlier these
solutions were only available to large enterprises as they were
expensive and SMBs could not afford them," he added.
