AdventNet Enhances SecureCentral PatchQuest to Address the need
for a Solid Patch Management Program for Enterprises
Improvements in the new version include Service Pack deployment
support, Graphical reporting and a number of other key patch management
features
Pleasanton, California, August 3, 2005
AdventNet announced a significant update to SecureCentral PatchQuest,
an affordable patch management software which helps small and medium
enterprises to automate the pain-staking manual patching processes,
and ensure that computer systems are compliant to an organization's
security policies.
Effective Patch management at a compelling price point:
SecureCentral PatchQuest is an automated patch management software
for distributing and managing security patches, hotfixes and updates
across heterogeneous networks comprising Windows, Red Hat and Debian
Linux systems, in just a few simple clicks. It efficiently scans
enterprise networks and identifies missing patches and software
updates. It distributes patches to vulnerable systems and keeps
the systems up-to-date and free from vulnerabilities. It supports
both agentless as well as agent-based modes of patch management.
Enhancements of PatchQuest 4.1 version include:
Service Pack Deployment Support - users can now download
and deploy missing service packs for Windows operating systems
and applications
Graphical Reporting - a rich set of graphs and charts
to help administrators and IT Managers be informed on the health
of the network
Support for RedHat ES & AS 4 and Debian Linux 3.1
CVE ID Integration - all patches in PatchQuest's vulnerability
database will be associated with their respective CVE Ids
Exporting & E-mailing Reports - provision to export reports
to .pdf, .xls & .html formats and to e-mail them
Automatic Agent Version Update - systems can be added
by domain names or by picking up hosts from Microsoft Active Directory
Active Directory Integration - Notifies a technician
or a group of technicians through either an e-mail or SMS when
a new request is created
Ability to deploy patch groups to system groups - support
for deploying entire patch groups over select system groups
Other features include: support for adding systems by importing
from text files, system environment diagnosis, maintaining and displaying
agent state (running or offline), and support for shutting down
systems after patch deployment, configurable Telnet/SSH ports while
adding Linux systems, e-mail address configuration for every user
and automatic, vulnerability database update-status intimation.
"I am very happy with the PatchQuest product. It works great!
It is very user friendly to learn and administer, and has literally
saved me hours of time in distributing and applying patches to our
PC's, said, Janet Allen, IT Manager, Med-Pay, Inc. Even
more importantly, your service and support has been truly outstanding!
I am looking forward to the new release and have the capability
to upgrade our Microsoft products, she added.
"PatchQuest's ability to easily automate the painful manual
patch management process is a boon for system administrators,"
said G. Rajesh, Product Manager at AdventNet. "With the number
of system vulnerabilities on the rise, it is essential that enterprises
reduce the system downtime to a bare minimum by patching them completely.
PatchQuest allows IT staff to eradicate OS and application level
vulnerabilities in their network at an affordable price," he
added.
