Functionality Validation is a software testing technique
to check whether the agent behaves according to the
RFC specifications and standards. The SNMP Agent Tester
tool automatically tests each MIB variable for GET,
GET-NEXT, SET, and GET BULK SNMP operations. This is
done for both the SNMP versions, V1 and V2C.
SNMP Agent Tester has a set of built-in test cases for testing
the functionality of the agents. These test cases require
MIB objects as their input. Once the MIBs are loaded, SNMP
Agent Tester automatically maps the OIDs with the built-in
test cases and displays the total number of test cases that
it would validate.
