Service Pack 5.0

Service Pack 5.0 (SP 5.0) for AdventNet CLI API 2.0 is available since Oct 28, 2003. This service pack is for customers who have downloaded the product prior to April 06, 2004. Customers who have downloaded the AdventNet CLI API after April 06, 2004 need not apply this service pack. The trial copy available in the Download page is already updated with SP 5.0.

New Features Added Over AdventNet CLI API 2.0

Core API

1. Support for sending commands or performing some action using ConnectionHandler interface is provided. This includes commands that can be sent
   • before or after establishing connection with the remote host
   • after logging into the device
   • before or after disconnecting from the host
2. Secure Shell (SSH) protocol is supported out-of-the-box.
   

Enhancements Made Over AdventNet CLI API 2.0

Core API

1. write() method is provided to allow the user to send stream of bytes to the remotehost in the TelnetFrame.
2. Provision for setting the terminalType as an applet parameter in the TelnetFrame, is made for telnet and SSH.
3. getProperties() and setProperties() methods are added to CLIProtocolOptions, to enable the user to get and set all the properties of the protocol.
4. setDebug() method is provided to disable logging in the AdventNet CLI API.
5. isPerformPing() and setPerformPing() methods are added to handle long offline CLI timeouts.
6. getRequestQSize() and setRequestQSize() methods are added to configure the asynchronous request queue size.
7. maxConnections() and systemWideMaxConnections() methods are enhanced to configure the number of connections with a device.
8. getTerminalType() and setTerminalType() methods are added for sending terminal type during Telnet protocol negotiation.

Support for internationalization of CLI Browser.

The AdventNetJta.jar is bundled with the CLI 2.0 Service Pack 5. With this, the jta20.jar under <CLI_HOME>/jars directory has become obsolete and can be removed. We request you to go through the <CLI_HOME>/COPYRIGHT_EXTENDED before start working with SSH and Telnet implementations.
