Trap/Notification

In addition to sending response to the manager, SNMP agents have the ability to send unsolicited messages to managers, when they detect some undesirable event. In SNMP terminology, these unsolicited message is called Trap or Notification. The AdventNet SNMP Agent toolkit supports traps/notifications in all the three versions of SNMP.

Provides Trap Forwarding table

• Stores the manager information for sending traps and it can be added before agent startup or during runtime.

• Traps can be sent to multiple managers.

Acknowledges the manager on receiving the trap from the agent.
