SNMP(v1/v2c) Agent

SNMP version 1 and SNMP version 2 are management protocols used for easy communication of SNMP information/messages between the agent and the management stations. The SNMP Agent Toolkit product suite offers high-level SNMP Java API to build SNMPv1 agent and SNMPv2c agent that supports these management protocols.

Community-based authentication

Enables effective administration by restricting only specified user(s) to access information for the corresponding community.

Provides Access Control table

Helps to store the relevant details of the communities and also configure them dynamically without interrupting the processing of the agent.

Authorization support

Restricts even the authenticated community to access only particular managed object(s) of the MIB.

Provides View Based Access Control table

Helps to store information of MIB views of the community and also configure them dynamically without interrupting the processing of the agent.

Implements managed objects as per SNMPv2-MIB (RFC 3418) that exposes the behavior of the SNMPv2c entity.

Notifies all the registered managers when the received community is not authenticated.
