Trap Viewer with Mailing Option

On enabling the mailing option in the Trap Viewer tool, the tool will send mail for the traps received, to the addressee mentioned in the configuration. Alerts the Operator/Administrator about the status of the device through e-mail.

Details

• Configuration for sending the E-Mail : Mails will be sent to the Administrator/ Operator based on below configured details
  
  
  • Subject of Mail
  • Outgoing Mail Server Name
  • From Address
  • To Address, (comma separated mail id's)
  • Suppress Keyword. (comma separated keys)
  • Number of Mails/hr. Above configured details will be stored in a XML configuration file.
    
    
• All the configuration is stored in XML file. On startup, configured details will be fetched from XML and populated in the UI.
  
  
• Mails also can be suppressed. There are two options to suppress the mails
  
  • Match the keyword : Trap/INFORM message, If it contains the keyword, If keyword matches, then mails will not be sent to the Operator/Administrator.
    
  • Number of mails/hour : This options will send as many mail specified in the configuration. Say mails/hour is configured as 10, only 10 mail will be sent irrespective of the no of traps received. other trap will be logged. (Example : mails/hour=10, Total number of traps received = 100, only 10 mails only will be sent to the mail recipient and other 90 traps will be logged).
    
  • Logging facility : logging of traps will done for traps for which mails are not sent (ie.all the traps contains suppress keyword, traps received after the reaching the number of mails/hr. is configured) will be logged.
