Brief Description of the TutorialseBON EMS Tutorial This tutorial aims at proving the easy customizability of AdventNet Web NMS, through the use of Web NMS Studio. It helps you to build only a sample application. In which, it adopts a generic network device (i.e., a DSLAM Device, which supports SNMP) as an example.This limited scope example will serve only to illustrate what can be built on AdventNet Web NMS and it is only a sub-set of the custom capabilities of AdventNet Web NMS. However, for many EMS applications of specific needs, this basic example can be extended. EMS Tutorial This tutorial guides you through different stages of developing an EMS that manages some SNMP Switches. It is a pre-built tutorial; you can directly install and run the final EMS application that is explained in the tutorial. It is recommended that you read the "Try it Out" section in the tutorial documentation, prior to working with the tutorial. TL1 Tutorial This tutorial guides you to develop an EMS for managing a TL1-managed device . Various features such as discovery, mapping, fault, and performance management have been dealt with in detail. It shows how to create custom Chassis views to represent the device elements. It is recommended that you read the tutorial documentation, prior to working with the tutorial. XML Southbound Tutorial This tutorial covers a sub-set of the custom capabilities provided by Web NMS. However for many EMS applications, these basic examples can be extended for more specific needs. In this tutorial, XML agent is modeled as a representation of an actual XML device, which responds to the Queries?s?sent to it by the Web NMS server. CORBA Northbound Tutorial This tutorial guides you through designing a CORBA Northbound application and provides you with working and illustrative examples to help you understand the choices to be made during development. This also explains how to build CORBA Northbound application using AdventNet Web NMS and the AdventNet Web NMS Studio. CORBA Southbound Tutorial This tutorial depicts how AdventNet Web NMS can be best utilized for effectively managing an EMS using CORBA as the southbound interface. JMS Southbound Tutorial This tutorial is aimed at demonstrating how Java Messaging Service (JMS) protocol can be used in AdventNet Web NMS configuration and fault management. GES Tutorial This tutorial helps you build an EMS to manage a CISCO Gigabit Ethernet Switch with ports that can be connected to independent LANs or peripheral devices. The tutorial can also be used as an example to manage other such Switches. Layer 2 Tutorial This tutorial helps you build an application that serves as a solution to perform Layer2 Discovery.
