Universal Mediation Architecture
AdventNet's Universal Mediation solution offers a comprehensive
solution for integrating network elements and element managers with
OSS systems. It offers a universal and feature rich mediation architecture
based on standards, including J2EE, XML and web services. The standards
based architecture with open APIs offers developers a high degree
of control and extensibility. New network elements, EMS/NMS systems
and OSSs can be rapidly integrated with minimal development effort.
AdventNet's Universal Mediation solution supports a wide range
of devices including SNMP, TL1, CLI, HTTP, Syslog, XML, etc. It
provides access to OSS systems through CORBA, TL1, SNMP and JMS.
TMF multi-technology, multi-vendor management is also available
with the AdventNet TMF product suite.
The mediation architecture uses a common XML messaging model to
easily integrate management protocols into the mediation solution.
SNMP, TL1, CLI and other protocols, including proprietary protocols,
are converted to and from XML messages. These XML messages can be
processed more easily by the mediation services layer. The mediation
services layer provides a set of services, including data collection,
event management, and configuration services. These services are
made available via the northbound OSS interfaces to NMS and OSS
systems.
The mediation solution uses a multi-tier architecture with a relational
database back-end. This provides a clustered, scalable and reliable
solution that can meet a wide range of service provider needs. The
distributed architecture, along with the open, standards-based,
extensible design, ensures integration with diverse service provider
environments and the ability to evolve with changing needs.
